In conjunction with VolunteerFairfax, The Northern Virginia Technology Council Foundation sponsors a special award to recognize the volunteer efforts of its member companies at the annual Volunteer Service Awards. Each year, VolunteerFairfax recognizes individuals, non-profits and businesses that have made outstanding contributions to our community. Awards are given in nine categories and are presented by members of the Fairfax Board of Supervisors at an April breakfast ceremony. The Equal Footing Foundation Volunteer Service Award is presented to an NVTC member company that has had the most profound, positive impact on the community through the use of technology.

We celebrate the important applications of technology to volunteer and community service efforts, and the Volunteer Service Awards provide an official forum for us to celebrate the accomplishments of the technology community in this endeavor.
