NVTC FOUNDATION RECEIVES $30,000 FROM NVTC GOLF TOURNAMENT

Proceeds of Annual Fall Event Benefit Bannister Scholarship Fund

HERNDON, Va., September 16, 2003 - Yesterday's NVTC Fall Golf Tournament benefiting the NVTC Foundation was a huge success, netting over $30,000 in proceeds that will go to support the Bannister Scholarship Fund at George Mason University.

In receiving the check on behalf of the Foundation at the awards dinner last night, NVTC Foundation President Dan Bannister said, "Thank you to all the great golfers out here today, in having a round of golf, and some fun I hope, you did a good deed for your community. The proceeds of this event will have a real impact and provide a brighter future for these young people in northern Virginia."

Established in 1997, the Bannister Scholarship Fund awards full tuition for students at George Mason University's School of Information Technology and Engineering. Currently, the NVTC Foundation sponsors four students on full-scholarship through the Bannister Scholarship Fund. Students are selected for the scholarship based on grades, need and service to the community. In addition to receiving full tuition, Bannister Scholars are invited to attend NVTC events and are introduced to prominent members of the technology community by a mentor.
