NVTC FOUNDATION ELECTS ALISA FOGELMAN-BEYER AS NEW TRUSTEE

Herndon, VA July 31, 2001- The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Foundation has unanimously elected Alisa Fogelman-Beyer of Hill & Knowlton as a new member of its Board of Trustees.

A proven businesswoman, Alisa is the senior managing director and practice leader of the Washington Technology Practice of Hill & Knowlton, the third largest public relations firm in the world. Previously, she founded The ProMarc Agency in 1996, building it into a $5 million dollar operation within five years, before selling it to H&K in March.

While driving ProMarc's growth, Alisa also acquired, built, and sold, Globescope International Services Inc., a website development company for embassies. She is also an investor in WomenAngels.net, the country's first all-female angel fund, where she is continually exposed to the trends in technology and VC markets.

Alisa has made a significant personal pledge for the next three years to become one of five founders of the NVTC Foundation. Her commitment will help fund Foundation projects, including computer learning centers to help bridge the "digital divide," Botball robotic competitions for area high schoolers, college scholarships for IT students at George Mason University, and a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to provide computers and Internet access to children battling life-threatening illnesses.

"I look forward to serving on the NVTC Foundation Board. It's exciting to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to enhancing the spirit of technological entrepreneurship," said Alisa. "It's important for everyone to be a part of the technological revolution sweeping the country and the NVTC Foundation is committed to making sure that happens."

The NVTC Foundation Chairman, Dan Bannister, also Chairman of DynCorp, said "Alisa Fogelman-Beyer is a welcome addition to the NVTC Foundation Board. Her expertise, experience, and commitment to the community will certainly be an asset to making the NVTC Foundation even more successful."
