Baja Fresh graciously donates 15% of Cinco de Mayo proceeds to NVTC Foundation

Herndon, Virginia, June 3, 2003 - Three local Baja Fresh restaurants have graciously donated 15% of their dinner proceeds from May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) to the NVTC Foundation. Baja Fresh expects that this donation to the NVTC Foundation will total almost $1,000. This generous contribution shows that despite difficult economic times, local businesses are still interested in helping the community.

May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, is a date of great importance for the Mexican and Chicano communities. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. The date has become a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism.

Three locations in Northern Virginia enthusiastically participated in this event, including the Baja Fresh restaurants in Reston, Fairfax, and the Cascades in Loudoun County. Flyers advertising this event were distributed to surroundingbusinesses and to all of NVTC's 1,500 member companies.

"We were very pleased to have companies, like Baja Fresh, support the Foundation, and we thank them for their donation," noted Tim Nurvala, president of the NVTC Foundation. "We appreciate their generosity, and we commend them for their dedication to helping others."

Current projects of the NVTC Foundation include the formation of Computer Clubhouses for children who do not have access to computers and technology after school, a Botball robotics competition for students, a scholarship fund for IT and Engineering students at George Mason University, and a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The NVTC Foundation will use the proceeds from Baja Fresh's donation to help support all of these efforts.
