NVTC Foundation receives $100,000 Donation from DynCorp

McLean, Va., May 27, 2003 - The NVTC Foundation is proud to announce an extraordinary gift of $100,000 from DynCorp to expand the funding of the Bannister Scholarship program at George Mason University.

"The future of our community is dependent on a solid education system and educating our future young leaders," said NVTC Foundation Chairman and former Chairman of DynCorp Dan Bannister. "This scholarship program contributes significantly to that goal."

"The NVTC high tech community is very fortunate to have been the recipient of DynCorp's support over the years, and we are extremely grateful for this extraordinary gift to the NVTC Foundation, a gift that will continue the company's legacy in this region," noted Tim Nurvala, president of the NVTC Foundation.

The donation will be used to build the endowment of the Bannister Scholarship program at George Mason University. The scholarship fund was established in 1997 to honor Dan Bannister, a former Chairman of NVTC, by sponsoring students at George Mason University's School of Information Technology and Engineering. Eligibility requirements for the scholarship include both need and merit and a minimum 3.0 grade point average in the declared major. In addition to full tuition, students are given a mentor who helps introduce them to NVTC member companies and encourages them to explore employment opportunities in Northern Virginia.
