Herndon,Virginia, May 2, 2003 - Baja Fresh has graciously offered to donate 15% of their dinner proceeds on May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) to the NVTC Foundation. This generous offer was made to show the community that despite difficult economic times, local merchants are still interested in helping the community. May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, is a date of great importance for the Mexican and Chicano communities. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. The date has become a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism. Three locations in Northern Virginia enthusiastically offered to participate in this event, including the Baja Fresh restaurants in Reston, Fairfax, and the Cascades in Loudoun County. Flyers advertising this event have been distributed to surrounding businesses and to all of NVTC's 1,500 member companies and must be turned in with each order for the 15% donation. "We are encouraging everyone to come out with family and friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and give back to the community," noted Tim Nurvala, President of the NVTC Foundation. "We genuinely appreciate Baja Fresh's generosity and we commend them for their dedication to helping others." Current projects of the NVTC Foundation include the formation of Computer Clubhouses for children who do not have access to computers and technology after school, a Botball robotics competition for students, a scholarship fund for IT and Engineering students at George Mason University, and a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The NVTC Foundation will use the proceeds from Baja Fresh's donation to help support all of these efforts. ----- About the NVTC Foundation
