Computer Clubhouses Excel Among the Competition!

BotballThe Fairfax County Clubhouse teams out-designed, out-maneuvered and out-programmed the competition during the 2006 Botball Robotics Competition, held at the University of Maryland in College Park.

Pitted against 46 teams are charter schools, regional public schools and local business backed teams, the groups won FIFTH PLACE OVERALL, "BEST SMALL ROBOT" and two "JUDGES CHOICE AWARDS".

Sponsored by the KISS Robotics Institute, Botball Robotics is a high-tech approach to education. By integrating science, technology, math and engineering with robotics, students learn cutting-edge technology skills. The LEGO robotic kits used in this competition are designed with "XBC" pieces and programmed using Interactive C and a version of C++. Once these robots are turned on, they run only through pre-programmed code. (Just like NASA!)
